Mozilla has released Firefox 2.0.0.5, an update that addresses several problems with the web browser. The min one that has been fixed is the one that allows Remote code execution by launching Firefox from Internet Explorer.

You should be prompted to update the program, but to make sure you have the latest version go to Help | Check for Updates in Firefox, or visit http://www.mozilla.com.

* "You has been infected. I repeat you has been infected and your system files has been deletes. Sorry. Have a Nice Day and bye bye". That message is read out loud while the BotVoice program deletes files from your computer and changes settings so that you cannot run any other programs. This little gem can be found on the Web, but it also spreads through removable storage like CDs, floppies and USB drives.

* Apple has released another set of patches for the Safari Web Browser - the second set since releasing the program about two weeks ago. If you have installed Safari go back to www.apple.com/safari/download/ and get the newest version.

* My Space has a number of pages that will install malicious programs on your computer by simply visiting the page. It seems that a lot of people are not keeping their Windows Updates up to date, since these pages take advantage of a flaw in Internet Explorer that was patched last year. My Space is working on ways to prevent this from happening again.

* There are e-mails circulating that purport to be from Microsoft. These e-mails contain attachments or links to "patches" that need to be downloaded to insure your computer is secure. Just keep repeating, "Microsoft does not e-mail patches," and you will be fine. Visit www.windowsupdate.com to see if your computer needs a security fix!
